Andrew R. Leslie
Andrew R. Leslie is a trial lawyer who has experience in construction and contractor disputes relating to North Carolina Department of Transportation projects, hospital projects, public and private university-campus construction, hotel projects, large mixed-use projects, wastewater treatment facilities, underground facilities, gas stations, other commercial construction projects, and residences. He also focuses his practice on disputes arising under the Uniform Commercial Code which relate to the sale of goods and materials in relation to construction projects. Andrew represents owners, general contractors, and a wide variety of subcontractors at each stage of a project’s life cycle, from review, revision, and negotiation of terms in construction contracts at the start of a project to litigation of disputes that arise during construction. Andrew’s practice focuses on:

When resolving construction claims, contract negotiations, transactional matters, or shareholder disputes, Andrew quickly identifies the primary issues, outlines options and strategy considerations for the client, and then establishes the most efficient and resourceful way to bring the case to a resolution.
Andrew earned his B.A. in Politics & Law as a student-athlete from Lenoir-Rhyne University. After attending Lenoir-Rhyne, he went on to earn his J.D. from Elon University School of Law. During law school, he worked in the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Clinic where he gained experience drafting contracts and helping form construction companies. Andrew also worked as an intern with a large electrical contractor based in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was later hired as in-house counsel after graduating from law school. Serving as in-house counsel, Andrew developed hands-on experience in negotiating and revising construction contracts, before starting with Smith Terry Johnson & Windle in 2019.
Andrew is a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, and has been in the greater Charlotte area his entire life. Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, and his favorite ways to unwind are deer hunting, playing golf with friends, fishing, and attending football games and other sporting events.
